Machine Sewing with Cassandra

This class presents an introduction to sewing by machine for the very beginner. Students will make a simple tote bag. We will learn essential sewing vocabulary., how to properly thread and sew with the machine, the way to accurately measure and cut fabric, how to follow a simple pattern and other fundamental sewing skills. No previous sewing experience is necessary.

Introduction to Machine Piecing and Quilting with Cassandra

In this class you will learn the basic skills required to make a quilt: Rotary cutting, lining up seams, and simple machine quilting. Students make a baby size quilt.

Quilt Making by Hand with Cassandra

$150
Learn all the skills, from cutting to piecing to quilting, to make a small quilt entirely by hand. No sewing experience is necessary.

Hand Quilting Workshop with Cassandra

$85
Focus on the art of hand quilting technique (as opposed to hand piecing ) in this 2 session workshop with master hand quilter Cassandra Thorson. No experience is necessary but this is a great class to take after “Quiltmaking by Hand” or “Intro to Machine Piecing and Quilting”. Please note that you will not be making a quilt in this class. Please see “Quiltmaking by Hand” if you’d like to learn how to make an entire quilt by hand.

Skirts that Work with Heather Ross

Learn how to make your very own custom fitting skirt by making your own skirt sloper. Basic machine sewing experience is required but this would be a perfect place to make your first piece of clothing.

Sewing with Knits for Baby with Heather Ross

Make a darling hat and blanket set for a baby while learning how to sew knits on a home machine.
Basic machine sewing experience is required but this can be your first time using knits.

Modern Trousseau: Embroidery with Heather Ross

Design your own custom monogram and make a lovely set of personalized linen napkins while learning a variety of hand embroidery techniques. No experience is required!

Smocked Sundresses with Heather Ross

Start spring off right by making a cute and simple to make smocked sundress from an original Heather Ross pattern. Basic machine sewing experience is required.

Because our shop is small, our classes are very limited in size. Cancellations must be made 48 hours before the start of the first class and no make up classes will be offered.
